Terms of Service

The service

StatCite provides read-only access to economic statistics retrieved from official sources, with citations, over MCP and HTTP. It is offered free of charge on a fair-use basis.

Data and accuracy

StatCite relays figures published by the underlying sources and identifies the exact series used. Statistics are revised by their publishers; values reflect what the source currently publishes, which may differ from earlier or later vintages. Computed results (transforms, inflation adjustment, FX bridging) disclose their method. The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. You are responsible for verifying suitability for your purpose; nothing here is investment, legal, or policy advice.

Your use

Keep automated request volumes reasonable; we may rate-limit or block abusive traffic.
Honor the underlying data licenses and attribution requirements — every response states them. FRED-sourced series carry the notice: “This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.” Some FRED series are owned by third parties; licensing redistribution of those is your responsibility.
Do not misrepresent StatCite output as endorsed by the World Bank, IMF, ECB, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, or any data provider. StatCite is independent and unaffiliated.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StatCite and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service or reliance on its output.

Changes

The service and these terms may change; continued use after posted changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be posted here.
